We want to make you aware of a possible scam regarding the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). We have recently learned of an incident in which a family was reportedly contacted by an individual requesting payment for an alleged overpayment.
Please be aware that any legitimate notice of a child care overpayment will be issued formally through the OCFS-LDSS-7009: Notice of Child Care Assistance Overpayment and Repayment Requirements, which includes the amount owed and official payment instructions.
If a family receives a request for payment outside of this formal notification process, or has any questions regarding an overpayment, please contact the Broome County DSS Day Care unit at 607-778-2628.
