With its role in New York State government, the mission of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is to promote greater self-sufficiency of the State's residents through the efficient delivery of temporary and transitional assistance, disability assistance, and the collection of child support.
New York State Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance
Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) has numerous responsibilities including: foster care, adoption and adoption assistance, child protective services, preventive services for children and families, services for pregnant adolescents, child care and referral programs, and protective programs for vulnerable adults. OCFS is also responsible for the functions performed by the State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH), and coordinates state government response to the needs of Native Americans on reservations and in communities.

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) works to protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. The Department provides leadership and oversight for a wide range of public health programs and services, including disease prevention and control, health promotion, environmental health, healthcare quality, and access to essential health services. NYSDOH also oversees New York’s Medicaid program, working to ensure that eligible individuals and families have access to comprehensive healthcare coverage and services. The Department collaborates with local health departments, social services districts, healthcare providers, and community organizations to address public health needs and improve health outcomes across New York State.
