Agency, CPS, and School Liaisons Committee: Establishes a linkage between the Department of Social Services, school personnel, and agencies to facilitate lines of communication.
This committee hosts an Annual Superintendent's Day Conference for Social Workers, support staffm and agency personnel.
Community Education Committee: This committee is charged with developing and implementing programs designed to inform the public on family violence issues, and needs identified by the Council. This committee hosts the "Come and Play Day" in April for child abuse prevention month and an annual youth art contest.
Elder Abuse Prevention Committee: Provides an ongoing forum to review issues in Broome County surrounding elder abuse and neglect. They provide educational seminars on the topic to professional and the public.
Inter-Agency Planning Committee: defines needs and resources and performs other similar functions in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the family violence delivery system.
Medical Issues: This committee is charged with addressing problems with identifying and intervening in family abuse cases that present in a medical setting.
Multidisciplinary Case Review Team: This committee reviews cases of family violence, which need a multi system approach to case management. This is a closed committee.
Professional Education Committee: Charged with developing and implementing programs designed to inform professionals based on needs identified by the council. The committee provides trainings/seminars on the various topics of family violence for professionals in the community.
SAYIT (Sexually Aggressive Youth Intervention Team): This committee works to improve the system’s response to known cases of sexually aggressive youth. This is a closed committee. The council also has a nominating committee and an executive committee which guides the work of the council.
