The Division of Environmental Health reviews information generated during State and Federal hazardous site investigations and makes recommendations to protect the health and safety of Broome County residents. It assists other agencies with site investigations as needed. Staff evaluates new development proposals that involve the use or storage of toxic chemicals and makes suggestions on ways to avoid future environmental problems. Staff also provides guidance to Broome County residents who might have indoor air issues (mold, radon, etc.), outdoor air complaints/concerns or potential chemical exposures.
