Broome County Health Department Issues Public Health Statement April 18

The Broome County Health Department announced today that it has learned an employee of Walmart, located at 2405 Vestal Pkwy E, Vestal, NY 13850, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Broome County Health Department received the positive test result today, April 18th.

If you were in the store on April 12th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the grocery department, the health department asks you to self-quarantine and contact your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms. Symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever and shortness of breath.

The 14-day incubation period will be over on April 26th. The employee did not work while symptomatic.

A special media briefing will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 19 at Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Taste NY Building.

Broome County officials remind you to stay home, avoid contact with others and if you feel sick and do not need immediate assistance please contact your healthcare provider via phone or virtual health with questions prior to heading to the emergency room.
