This summer, immerse yourself at Broome County Parks to learn all about nature. Broome County is partnering with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County to offer nature-based programming throughout July and August. There will be 15 different opportunities this summer to get up close and personal with plants, animals, insects, and everything in between.
Nature Walks: Take a guided park tour on the first Sunday of each month this summer; 3:00 – 4:00 PM July 2nd (Cole Park), August 6th (Hawkins Pond), & September 3rd (Otsiningo Park)
Canoe/Kayak Tours: A guided paddle around Whitney Point Lake; July 15th & August 19th 9:00 – 11:00 AM, July 27th & August 30th 5:30 – 7:30 PM (Dorchester Park)
Pond Safaris: Catch and learn about all sorts of pond critters; July 22nd 10:00 – 11:30 AM, 1:00 – 2:30 PM, 3:30 – 5:00 PM (Greenwood Park); August 5th 10:00 – 11:30 AM, 1:00 – 2:30 PM, 3:30 – 5:00 PM (Cole Park)
