Broome County Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services Director Elizabeth Woidt and County Executive Jason Garnar announced Thursday the details of the 2023 parks season. While parks are open year-round, Memorial Day Weekend marks the official launch of the season, when boating and camping begin at the County’s ten parks.
Parks will be open from 8:00 AM until dusk daily. A variety of special events and programs will be offered, such as Broome Bands Together, Movies in the Park, the Broome County Triathlon, the 5K series, and Spiedie Fest among other great events.
Starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the following amenities are available:
⁃ Boat rentals, 7 days/ week 11AM- 7:30 PM (last rental out at 6:30 PM; pricing below)
⁃ Beaches open 7 days/ week 11AM- 7:30 PM
⁃ Concessions are available at Cole and Greenwood 7 days/ week 11 AM - 7 PM
⁃ Camping open 7/days a week $28/ night + $5 reservation fee
⁃ Pavilions available for rental $30 weekday. $100 weekend & holiday + $5 reservation fee.
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services reminds all visitors to follow park rules and practice proper etiquette when using trails, beaches, boats, and other park equipment. Dogs are welcome at all parks; please keep on a 6ft leash & clean up after them. Inquiries regarding amenities can be directed to the Department at 607-778-2193.
