(WHITNEY POINT, NY) The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services has closed the beach at Dorchester Park due to an unidentified algae bloom. The beach will be closed until further notice.
This decision was made Saturday, August 17, 2019 as a protective measure. A sample will be taken and tested by the Broome County Health Department. The public will be notified when the beach is reopened.
The beaches at Greenwood Park and Nathaniel Cole Park remain open.
