(BROOME COUNTY, NY) – Broome County Executive Jason Garnar delivered his 2024 State of the County Address Wednesday evening in front of guests at the Broome-Tioga BOCES Leslie F. Distin Education Center, in the Automotive Technology Workshop.
“We are building more in 2024 than ever before. From economic developments to crucial investments in infrastructure, parks, and housing, our county is experiencing growth,” said County Executive Garnar. “With a commitment to supporting our residents, we’re not just building structures; we’re building a stronger, more inclusive community for generations to come.”
Highlights of Garnar’s address included:
- Broome-Tioga BOCES extensive programming to benefit the students of the County
- Economic development projects underway generating thousands of jobs
- Strong financial conditions, growing fund balance, and tax cutting
- Improving infrastructure
- Investing in our parks & community entertainment
- Work of law enforcement, emergency services & first responders to enhance safety
- Commitment to supporting veterans with the new Veterans Resource Center & Tiny Homes
- Ongoing efforts for our seniors
This was County Executive Garnar’s eighth State of the County address as Broome County Executive.
