Security Interns may be assigned to Administrative, Investigative, Uniformed Operations or the Training Unit on a rotational basis. Security interns will be assigned to a member of a unit and will assist in that unit's assigned duties. Security Interns will not be assigned in a manner in which they would be expected to carry out the functions of a Peace Officer.
Currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice or closely related program.

Broome County is seeking an experienced professional engineer to serve as the Department of Public Works Deputy Commissioner of Engineering. The Deputy Commissioner is responsible for supervising the County engineering staff who manage the design and construction of all Broome County engineering projects under the jurisdiction of Public Works. Additionally, this position consults with and advises the Commissioner, Budget Director, and other County officials in determining which capital and non-recurring repairs and replacement projects best meet the needs of the County.
The successful candidate must possess NYS PE license, and thorough knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles, with preferred experience in both design and construction administration. A good working knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping, personnel administration, supervision, and administrative practices and controls are critical. The candidate must possess the ability to work cooperatively and effectively communicate with department staff, other department managers, and members of the public.
