Passenger Van Operator

As a Van Operator, you will be driving a 16-passenger paratransit van. This is a great job if you enjoy working with people and driving. This is a part-time position for people who can have a flexible work schedule. You may have additional driving duties as required.
• Must have the ability to communicate and interact with all people, especially demonstrating skills working with senior citizens and persons with disabilities
• CDL C license preferred, but BC Transit will train the right person for the job
• Paid comprehensive training, with great wages
• Must have the ability to communicate with vendors and customers visiting the agency.
• P/T positions are Monday-Sunday, typically 30-38 hours each week
• Starting pay is $18.53/hour with step increases

Broome County is seeking an experienced professional engineer to serve as the Department of Public Works Deputy Commissioner of Engineering. The Deputy Commissioner is responsible for supervising the County engineering staff who manage the design and construction of all Broome County engineering projects under the jurisdiction of Public Works. Additionally, this position consults with and advises the Commissioner, Budget Director, and other County officials in determining which capital and non-recurring repairs and replacement projects best meet the needs of the County.
The successful candidate must possess NYS PE license, and thorough knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles, with preferred experience in both design and construction administration. A good working knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping, personnel administration, supervision, and administrative practices and controls are critical. The candidate must possess the ability to work cooperatively and effectively communicate with department staff, other department managers, and members of the public.
This is an administrative position responsible for planning, directing and administering the Broome County Youth Bureau activities within the policies established by the County Executive and the Youth Advisory Board. The Executive Director (Youth Bureau) provides technical assistance to community service providers and contractors regarding grant
preparation, program planning and contract management with a goal of providing affordable and accessible youth services and meaningful leisure time activities for all youth. Supervision is exercised over this position by the Deputy County Executive. Wide leeway is allowed for the exercise of independent judgement in carrying out the day-to-day activities of the agency. Supervision is exercised over the work of department personnel. Does related work as required.
