Engineering Intern
Engineering / Temporary / 37.5 hr/wk
Pay Rate: $15.80/hr (supplies and equipment provided by Broome County)
Students currently enrolled in civil engineering (or other similar engineering or environmental) programs that are competent with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.) are encourage to apply. Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Full time summer position working 37.5 hours a week under the direction of DPW-Engineering Division staff. Position responsibilities will include a combination of office and field work and may include work such as compliance inspection for the County’s MS4 program, infrastructure inventory using GPS equipment, ADA compliance inspections, and assistance with filing, digitization and preservation of existing historical design documents. Depending on level of education and experience, additional work may include review of and assistance with construction paperwork and cost estimating, involvement in construction inspection, hydraulic analysis of culverts and/or culvert inspection, and work in AutoCAD.

This is a professional administrative position that involves managing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a County-wide program for emergency services.
