Step Two - Schedule a "Sit-Along" with our dispatch staff.
Step Three - When the hiring block opens, interview with members of the 911 Team.
Step Four - Background Check conducted by Broome County Government Security Division.
Once hired, you will then begin your 911 journey by starting in our classroom training program, typically about 4 weeks. Once completed, you will then move to the 911 floor and start field training with our staff of Communications Training Officers (CTO's)!
As of April 2025, the NYS HELPS Program has been extended until June of 2026.
