Meeting Scheduled for December 21 at the Conklin Community Center
(BROOME COUNTY, NY) – The Broome County Department of Public Works will be holding a public information meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 21, at the Conklin Community Center (956 Conklin Road, Conklin) to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of the County Route 20 bridges over (1) Norfolk Southern Railroad/Susquehanna River, (2) CR-209 (Main Street, Kirkwood), and (3) New York Susquehanna & Western Railroad.
The county’s DPW, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, is developing design alternatives with the assistance of C&S Engineers, Inc. for the three bridges. The project objective is to address structural deficiencies.
The purpose of this meeting is to obtain comments and to answer questions about the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials, and local agencies. The public information meeting is part of the continuing efforts by Broome County, NYSDOT, and FHWA to encourage public input into the development of transportation projects.
