Broome County Executive Jason Garnar was joined Thursday by Binghamon Black Bears Owner Andreas Johansson and Broome County Veterans’ Service Director Brian Vojtisek to announce an initiative for veterans for the upcoming hockey season. The County will purchase 500 tickets to giveaway to local veterans for free.
“This administration has made supporting our veterans one of our top priorities,” said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. “After all they’ve done for us, the least we can do is find small ways like this to give back to our veterans. Thank you to our Veterans’ Services Office, the Black Bears, and everyone in the County for supporting this initiative.”
Veterans can claim up to four ticket vouchers which can be redeemed for tickets to any game this season. All they have to do is visit the Black Bears’ team office on the third floor of the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena and present their veterans ID to receive the free vouchers. The Black Bears home opener is scheduled for Saturday, November 6th.
