Old Route 17 to be Closed for Culvert Replacement
(TOWN OF SANFORD, NY) – The Broome County Department of Public Works will be closing Old Route 17, a county-owned road located in the Town of Sanford, for a culvert replacement near the intersection of Mt View Drive. The closure will begin on May 11, 2026, at 7 a.m., and will reopen at 5 p.m. on August 14, 2026.
All local traffic will need to seek alternate routes while the road is closed. A signed detour route
will be in place during the closure.
