Spring Series 2026: Planning for Solar
Join Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development for their Spring Municipal Training Series on Planning for Solar. This training series will include four sessions and focus on the different development considerations related to solar development.
These topics will set the background for the remaining sessions in the series.
Planning Board & Zoning Board of Appeals members will receive up to 2 hours of credit for each session attended. All sessions are optional. There is no cost to attend.

- Site Plan essential elements, SEQRA and 239 requirements
- Potential Environmental Impacts
- The NYSERDA Guidebook
- Large-Scale Solar vs. Residential
- AGM Guidelines for Solar Development Construction Mitigation
- Agrivoltaics
- NYS Fire Prevention Regulation Safety
Speakers will include representatives from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and NYSERDA as well as specialized areas of the public/private sector.
