Do I need insurance to be seen at a Broome County Health Department clinic?

You are welcome at any of our clinics, whether you have insurance or not. No one will ever be turned away due to lack of insurance or inability to pay.

If you have insurance, we will bill your plan directly. If you are uninsured or concerned about out-of-pocket costs, ask us about our sliding fee scale. This program adjusts fees based on your income to make care more affordable. To determine eligibility, please bring proof of income, such as recent pay stubs or tax returns. Our sliding fee is determined by Federal Poverty Guidelines. We offer discounts on services for those under 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

For those who are uninsured or underinsured, we also participate in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) programs. These programs provide vaccines at no cost, although a small administration fee may apply.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please call us at 607-778-2839. We’re here to help.
