Daniel J. Reynolds (R) was first elected in 2010 and was re-elected to a new term representing Legislative District 5 in 2022. District 5 includes portions of the Town of Vestal. In December 2015, Mr. Reynolds was elected Chairman of the Broome County Legislature and was re-elected for the 2023-2024 Legislative term.
Dan’s legislative duties previously included serving as Majority Leader and as the Chairman of the Finance Committee in 2015, which oversees the departments of Audit and Control, Real Property Tax Service, Risk Management, and the Office of Management and Budget, the proposed annual budget and capital program, insurance and debt (bonding), taxes, assessments, tax maps, tax sales, and the disposal of real and personal property. He has also served as a member of the County Administration and Personnel Committee.
Dan currently serves as Director of Operations for Northwestern Mutual, Feehan Financial Services and he brings small business ownership experience with him as he owns MacRaghnaill Communications Marketing & Design.
Prior to Dan's election to the County Legislature, he served as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Bob Warner, Deputy Elections Commissioner for Broome County, and Legislative Assistant to Assemblyman Richard Miller.
Dan received his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Binghamton University and is a graduate of Vestal High School. He, his wife Amy, and their daughter reside in the Town of Vestal.
