Domestic violence and family violence not only affects the individuals and the children involved, but can also have an influence on the workplace environment. Some possible effects that employers may encounter because of family violence in an employee's home are:
- Increased work absences
- Increased health care utilization and costs
- Decreased work productivity
- Increased safety concerns in the work environment
