2026 Road Work Season Begins on Broome County Roadways

(BROOME COUNTY, NY) – The Broome County Department of Public Works Highway Division officially begins its 2026 roadwork season next week, with crews working across the county to improve road conditions and enhance safety for residents.

Work will take place throughout the construction season and may include temporary lane closures, flagging operations, and minor delays. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly, reduce speeds in work zones, and remain alert for workers and equipment.

The following work is scheduled for Broome County roadways beginning Monday, April 27th.

  • Paving Whitney Point/Lisle Road – County Route 061 (weather dependent)
  • Culvert work on Dunham Hill Road, Knapp Hill Road & East Windsor Road
  • Cleaning ditches on Old Route 17, Big Hollow Road, Trim Street, Knapp Hill Road & Twist Run Road
  • Road sweeping crews will be in the Endwell area on Hooper Road, Farm to Market Road & Taft Avenue

Weekly road work schedules will be released each Friday throughout the construction season and are subject to change based on weather conditions.
