Greater Binghamton Air Show Returning This Summer

(TOWN OF MAINE, NY) Broome County officials are happy to be joined by Jeff Gural, owner of Tioga Downs Casino Resort, to announce the return of the Greater Binghamton Air Show in 2021. Due to COVID-19 this year’s air show will feature a drive-in style format.

“The Air Show is a great event that takes place in Broome County and with the lineup we’re looking to provide this year is really going to be amazing,” said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. “We are planning the event with COVID-19 precautions in mind to host this community event in a safe way. Our team has gotten inventive in finding creative new ways to allow our community to safely enjoy the entertainment. This Air Show will give us all something to look forward to attending this summer.”

Broome County is pleased to announce Tioga Downs Casino Resort as the Presenting Partner for the 2021 Greater Binghamton Air Show. The 2021 Air Show will be featuring the United States Air Force Thunderbirds in their Lockheed F-16CJ Fighting Falcon aircraft.  The USAF Thunderbirds last performed in Binghamton in 2004.

"It is our great pleasure to partner with the Greater Binghamton Air Show again this year," Jeff Gural, owner of Tioga Downs, said. "The Air Show is a beloved tradition with a great deal of local history in the Southern Tier. Assisting with wonderful events like this is our way of saying thank you to the community that's so graciously welcomed and supported Tioga Downs Casino Resort since we opened in 2006."

This year’s Air Show will be held on Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th at the Greater Binghamton Airport. Air Show opening and performer information will be released on the air show’s website. (www.flybgm.com) The Air Show performances will be jam-packed, with exciting performances from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

The Greater Binghamton Airport has also brought in the expertise of David Schultz Airshows of Clearfield, Pennsylvania to produce the event.

“Since 2002, Schultz Airshows has been integral in the planning and safe execution of the Airshow. It was Schultz’s forward-thinking vision that enabled him to land the USAF Thunderbirds for our 2021 event after the Thunderbirds had an opening in their schedule,” said Mark Heefner, Broome County Commissioner of Aviation. “The Air Show is always a fantastic event for our community. It’s simply a fun, exciting day of family friendly entertainment. This year will be even better with the two-day show, amazing lineup, and our drive-in style format. We are so thankful for Tioga Downs and all of our sponsors for their support in bringing the air show to the Greater Binghamton Airport and our Community.”
