(WHITNEY POINT, NY) The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services will reopen the Dorchester Park Beach tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th, after it was previously closed due to an algae bloom.
The parks department made the decision to close the beach on Tuesday, July 21 as a protective measure. After additional testing the waterfront has now been cleared to reopen.
Beaches at Nathaniel Cole Park and Greenwood Park also remain open.
