(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome County officials announced today information on the distribution of cloth masks to the public. On Wednesday the Broome County Emergency Operations Center received a shipment of 68,000 masks from the federal government.
Starting Monday, masks will be available at some of the school meal distribution sites in various municipalities. Those distribution sites will be announced as the information becomes available.
In addition to that if you need a mask this weekend, below are public distribution sites for Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25:
- Otsiningo Park
- 1 Otsiningo Park, Binghamton, NY 13905
- 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Former Macy’s building at the Oakdale Mall
- 601-635 Harry L Dr, Johnson City, NY 13790
- 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The number of masks available is limited. Mask distribution is limited to 1 mask per person, per household. There will be a 5-mask limit per household. The goal is to make sure every Broome County resident 2 years and older has access to a mask. CDC guidance does not recommend masks on infants younger than 2.
If you already have a reusable mask you DO NOT need another one.
Broome County is also currently working with various agencies to distribute masks to residents who are unable to access these locations. This includes agencies such as the Broome County Office for Aging, ACHIEVE, the Southern Tier Independence Center, the Binghamton Rescue Mission and the United Way.
People can also call 2-1-1 for additional help.
Broome County officials remind you to stay home, avoid contact with others and if you feel sick and do not need immediate assistance please contact your healthcare provider via phone or virtual health with questions prior to heading to the emergency room.
