2024 Broome County Local Waterfront Revitalization Strategy
The Broome County Local Waterfront Revitalization Strategy is a comprehensive approach to re-imagining the County’s waterways, and how they can be leveraged to support natural resource protection, enhance access for recreation and provide economic revitalization opportunities. The Broome County Local Waterfront Revitalization Strategy focuses on the county’s designated inland waterways including the Susquehanna, Chenango, Tioughnioga and Delaware Rivers, and Nanticoke Creek and builds upon the 2011 Intermunicipal Waterfront Public Access Plan framework and affords a unique opportunity for residents and visitors to help determine how the County can take advantage of its waterfront assets. Broome County collaborated with its municipalities to develop a comprehensive countywide strategy which participating municipalities can adapt into their own Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), equipping them with the tools and regulatory controls to support local implementation.
