(BINGHAMTON, NY) Broome County Executive, Jason Garnar, will deliver the 2019 State of the County address at 5:30PM on Tuesday, February 26, at the Ansco Lofts in Binghamton. The Ansco Lofts, located at 16 Emma Street, is the former site of the Ansco Camera Factory in the First Ward neighborhood of the City of Binghamton.
The revitalization of the historic Ansco Camera Factory will create a mixed-use development with 100 market-rate lofts and 35,000 square feet of commercial space. The property was formerly owned by Broome County and was sold to Freewheelin Ansco, LLC in June 2018.
The developer of the project is Matthew Paulus of Paulus Development. Paulus said, “We are honored to welcome County Executive Garnar, the Broome County Legislature, Department Heads, and members of the community to the Ansco Lofts. We believe that the project will build upon the exciting revitalization efforts currently underway and recently announced in the region.”
County Executive Garnar said, “I am excited to be delivering my State of the County at the Ansco Lofts. This project is the prime example of how the power of partnerships is revitalizing Broome County. Matthew Paulus has created something special here in our community. He saw an opportunity to make a major investment, bring this historic building new life and provide much-needed housing and commercial space. This project has made tremendous progress since the groundbreaking six months ago and I cannot wait for everyone to see what’s been accomplished.”
The Broome County Legislature and Department Heads have been invited to the address.
The event is open to the public.
County Executive Garnar held the 2018 State of the County address at Animal Adventure Park in the Town of Colesville.
